Multiplicative Gluing Formulas for the R-torsion of (n-2)-Connected Closed pi-Manifolds

Abstract: Let $M$ be a closed orientable $(n-2)$-connected $2n$-dimensional $\pi$-manifold. Such a manifold $M$ can be decomposed as a connected sum of certain simpler manifolds. In this talk, by using such connected sum decompositions, we will give multiplicative gluing formulas that express the Reidemeister torsion of $M$ with untwisted $\mathbb{R}$-coefficients in terms of Reidemeister torsions of its building blocks.
